NEK of the Woods

My name is Donnie, and my passion for woodworking began in high school wood shop classes. My journey started with a job at a Vermont furniture factory, where I progressed to the role of production manager over 15 years. During this time, I honed my furniture-making skills and even began producing parts for the factory in my home workshop.

Following that, I spent five years as the finish department manager for a high-end home builder, where I mastered the art of finishing all types of woodwork. Throughout these experiences, I’ve always maintained my own business, which has steadily grown. Today, we continue to manufacture parts for various companies, including that first furniture factory. We also specialize in crafting custom pieces like tables, desks, bookcases, and virtually anything else a customer envisions in wood.

I’ve also developed a deep appreciation for restoring and refinishing antique furniture. I find great satisfaction in understanding how older pieces were constructed and bringing them back to their original condition. Witnessing a worn finish come back to life is particularly rewarding to me.
